Awestruck Experience 2010 is a new outdoor summer experience for Senior High youth loaded with music, food, contests, service projects, discipleship, sports, swimming, entertainment, camping all while experiencing the foretaste of a life forever with our Father, our Savior by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The official Awestruck Worship Experience verse: Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”  Hebrews 12:28-29

The culture we live in moves more rapidly today than ever before.  The winds of today’s society are striking your body at all angles, sending you into a spiraling effect that has the power to move you without your control.  You are swept up in a storm that seems inescapable as everything around you begins to lose all focus and stability.  However, you remain unshaken.

A God that cannot be shaken lives inside of us and He shows us who He is on the outside.  Amidst the wind, hail, and thunderstorms of life, we are only struck by one thing:  awe.  It is a mixed emotion of reverence, respect, and wonder inspired by authority, genius, great beauty, sublimity, or might.  The light that bursts through the clouds and strikes at our very being is He, who is a consuming fire.

Prepared to get struck.  Awestruck.

The official Awestruck Experience 2010 theme verse: To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!  Amen. Jude 24-25

The current life expectancy for someone born in the United States of America is 78 years old.  Within that time, some move away from their hometown, most will get married, and all will sleep, wake up, breath, eat, drink, and die.

78 years is a long time, comparatively.

Compared to life in high school,

Compared to life in college,

but synonymous with a life without Christ.

The earth had no answer for death.  There is no pill for perfection; no one innocent enough for immortality; no worldly remedy for redemption.  In response, heaven came down.

We were given a new comparison. We were given a new life expectancy.  We were given a new life.

A life that lasts as long as his power,

A life that lasts as long as His majesty

A life that lasts as long as His love

Forever.

Remaining perfect during temptation, remaining powerful through pain, remaining loving through abandonment, he remained for mankind.  For me.  For you.    Now, comparatively, our time on earth is short,  but our life will last forever.  He loves us enough to give us a foretaste of forever. Let’s live in a way that believes that…forever.
